Do you stitch "on the go?" (On the commute to and from work,
during your lunch break, waiting for the kids, etc.) If so, do you have a
specific "travel" project or do you just grab whatever you happen to be working
on and take it with you?
I have stitched "on
the go" since I started stitching 15 years ago. I always have a project
with me either one small enough that is kept in my purse or once that is in a
craft bag that I can grab on my way out. I used to only work on one
project at a time. Now I do have several. Some of them are much to
large now to be "on the go" projects so I do have small ones to carry for those
moments that pop up that I can get a few stitches on, like waiting at
the doctor/dentist office, at the hair salon, for Hannah to get out of
school, for car maintenance and while traveling. When I worked
full-time, I used my lunch for stitching. And I actually like it
when someone asks me about what I am doing. As a some
what shy person, it helps me to be less so.

Now, on to other
stuff. Last week I received an email from my cousin that her wedding date
was cancelled. I emailed her back but didn’t get an answer as to another
date, etc. My mom talked to her sister (our aunt that my cousin is very
close to and asked that she pass on to my mom & me since she just didn’t
want to get into it over and over again) and she let us know that though
the date was cancelled they hadn’t broken up. There are some issues that
they felt would be best to work out now before getting married. I am not
sure what those are but my mom seems to think it has to do with their
differences in they type of work they do and that my cousin (who is a lawyer)
making more money than him.

Now, I mean no offense,
but I just don’t get men. Who cares, it doesn’t make you less of a
man. Sean said he wouldn’t care if I made more money than him, it would
just mean he didn’t have to work as hard. I reminded him that I do make
more money since he signs his entire earnings over to me every payday leaving
him with zip. LOL Seriously though, I just don’t get it. The Today
Show had a segment about this right around the time I got the email from my
cousin. White collar women with blue collar men or something like
that.

My parents 25th wedding
anniversary is coming up next March. I am not sure if they are planning
anything special but I hope that they do. By this I mean
a weekend trip or something just for them. I want to stitch them
something very special to honor this anniversary. But I am not sure what
yet. I have a few things in mind and I am keeping my eyes open in case any
thing catches my fancy. I was ten when my parents got married so they have
been together closer to 35 years. I am amazed sometimes that they have
been together so long. I just can’t believe how fast time has gone
by. I can still remember my aunt telling me to leave my skirt down as I
kept flapping the sheer material up and down. Then it dawns on my that not
only have my parents been together so long, but that I am a mother of a darling
six year old daughter and married to a wonderful man for almost nine
years. Where oh where, I ask again, has the time gone?

Tonight was Hannah’s
first soccer practice. Though a bit of chaos at the beginning practice
went well. Very cold. I am hoping that Hannah won’t be suffering in
the next couple of days because of it. Health wise, she has been doing
much better since her last bout in February. Wow! I just realized we
made it through the month of March without her missing any school. Is that
right? I think it is. Anyway, game on Saturday but it looks like
rain is in the forecast. Keeping my fingers crossed that it waits until
the afternoon and the first game isn’t cancelled.

Now that the retreat is
finished, I managed to get some stitching finished on My Teacher. Not
much, but another letter done…P is for Pencil. Next up…O is for
Overshoe. I don’t know about anyone else but I have never used the word
overshoe. Have always called them rain boots or galoshes. But hey,
whatever works for the piece. I went by the LNS today and made a decision
about punchneedles. I told Wendy to order me the set of CTR…the ones in a
haystack. The next Punch and Cookie Club will be coming in any day
now. Can’t wait to see what it will be.

Sean is out of town
again this week on business. Can you tell? I have gone on and
on here without him to chat with at home. He’ll be back on Friday and I
can’t wait. I admit it, I miss him. TTFN

DH is overnight in Indianapolis. I usually spend more time on-line when he is away. Hey, how about listing your books!!!
i have a ton of shelving downstairs & everything is full. With five readers in the house, we have books for all age groups : )
I want j.meek\’s People\’s Act of love. I had it from the library & it was due & on the special helf – that doesn\’t allow renewals. Think my budget will stretch again? Or, should I wait until it is in paperback?
