It’s Friday!

Sean and I got the shed and half the laundry room cleaned out, ready for bulk trash.  It isn’t for a couple of weeks, but he won’t be able to help on the actual pick up days.  We got it all moved to the top of the drive way (looks terrible but what can you do?) so that I can just move it down closer to pick up days.  Our area only does bulk trash pick up twice a year.  The other half of the things in the laundry room are boxes of paper that have to be gone thru and separated.  Most of which is going to have to be shredded.  Then I have the office and Hannah’s closet..time to weed out her clothes to donate.  Spring cleaning is getting done.  Oh, and our room…but I am avoiding saving that for last.

I am going to re-organize my stash that is in the office.  Later in the month we will be moving the desktop computer into the spare bedroom and making that into the home office for Sean.  Since he works a lot more from home now, he needs a little more space…according to him the current room being used as the office is to small for him to be comfy.  So, it will become my stash room.  We picked up a new book case for me to use.  There is a twin bed (covered in cross stitch stuff at the moment…hence the new bookcase) that one of my God-sons will use when they come visit and we have a twin Aero-bed for the other.  Thankfully, not all three God-sons would visit at the same time, so it will work out fine.  The youngest one would sleep in Hannah’s room on the blow up bed anyway we he visits.  And we are getting a sofa bed for the spare room instead of the bed that is in there now to give Sean more room.

So that’s the plans.  And we have until July to get it set up.  That means get a sofa bed. That is the month we have the most company at one time overnight (for Hannah’s birthday).  Then Christmas, but it is usually just my parents overnight.

Last night Sean and I made plans for a trip.  I made hotel reservations, he bought tickets for the train and show.  We are going to New York City in August!  And we are going to see….The Little Mermaid on Broadway!  We plan on seeing only one show this trip but staying four nights instead of only two.  We want to go to the American Museum of Natural History and the Statue of Liberty.  We want to go on another carriage ride thru Central Park…hopefully find the zoo this time.  Of course, Hannah will be wanting to make a trip to the American Girl Store.  I am not sure what else we will be doing but it is going to be wonderful.  It is weird.  Neither Sean nor I would say we like the big city, but we LOVE New York!

A bit of this and that

Sean and I have been watching The Tudors (HBO show) on DVD the last few nights.  Very good show.  I am learning lots about the history of that time.  Mostly because while we are watching it, I am looking things up on the Internet to see what’s what…separating the fact from fiction.

Anyway, late last night I decided to work again on "My Sunshine".  I was ending a thread, reached into the project bag to get out that color to re-thread and what do I see?  Yep, right there in the project bag wrapped in the threads were Sophia Gingher Scissors…the whole time!  LOL  I swear we have little elves in this house stealing things, moving things and Sean says, borrowing things.  (BTW, those missing scissors were in the pink project bag below the whole time I was looking for them!!)

I finally ordered and received this week very quickly a couple of these wonderful thread holders made my Monique at her Etsy Shop.  They are wonderful!

Not much else going on really.  Hannah will be participating in the Jump Rope For Heart with her school and the American Heart Association on April 10th.  I am really proud of her for doing this.  Plus, she has been saving a part of her allowance to donate to it.

I planned on writing an entry yesterday about spring break so far and our Easter weekend, but I was just to tired.  Not really feeling that great today either, but it is laundry day and someone has to do it.

Wednesday Hannah and I picked up a friend of hers then headed to Chuck E Cheese for some gaming there.  We had a ton of tokens so I thought what better way to spend a day during the break. The girls had a lot of fun.  Thursday we (meaning I) cleaned house and finished up some laundry…sheets and things like that.  Friday was some more last minute cleaning in the morning.  Sean and I have decided to get rid of some "junk" so we got the spare bedroom and family room cleaned up.  Though now we have decided to move out the spare bed, get a sofa bed, put the desktop and get a new desk for Sean to work at home in the spare room and make the office room into my stash room!  But that will be a process.  However, we get overnight guest only about four times a year, so…

We took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill and went out to dinner before stopping at Best Buy & coming home to watch Enchanted on DVD.  Such a good movie.  Saturday morning I got up early and headed to the grocery store to pick up the things needed for Easter dinner.  Hannah and I dyed eggs.  Sean’s mother and her boyfriend came just before dinner time, we ordered pizza and then Sean’s brother and family came over for the evening to play on the Wii & Guitar Hero III game.  They shared the news that they are expecting another child.  We are very happy for them.

The Easter Bunny came to visit Hannah and left her a basket with gifts along with hiding colored eggs.  We went to church then came home where I made dinner.  Really just the sides since we got a Heavenly Ham.  I served Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Corn Casserole, Green Beans and Watergate Salad with the yummy ham.  Sean loves ham!  I love Garlic Mashed Potatoes!  His mom and boyfriend left shortly after dinner.  We had a very nice holiday weekend.

Hannah still has two more days of break.  Today we are doing laundry and having left overs for dinner.

No stitching to report really.  Haven’t been able to pick it up since Friday night except a very little bit on ATS last night while watching The Tudors on DVD.  :0(  But once I get the laundry and checkbook/bills done, I plan on watching Medium online…missed last weeks episode…and stitching on something.

Our little puppy Daisy has an odd habit.  We have never seen a dog do this before.  It is kinda cute and seems to bring her comfort and calms her down.

Another project

I finally caught up on all the blogs I read and I noticed something about a few of my favorite blogs.  New projects!  I decided to see if starting a new project would help to pull me out my stitching rut.  At first I thought about starting the Bent Creek’s Holiday Snappers after seeing Petra’s finished and framed.  So I went looking for the fabric and working charts that I knew I had.  I couldn’t find it.  I found lots of other projects I had kitted up but not the one I was looking for.  So I decided to start another project instead… La D Da’s My Sunshine.  Of course then I decided to look just one more time…and I found the Holiday Snappers.  I decided since I have other things that really need to be finished to start the smaller project first and hold off on the snappers.  I have enjoyed what little bit I have stitched so far.

…when it’s finished

And today I did actually stitched on the teacher’s gift, too.

I haven’t stitched on And They Sinned in several weeks…hopefully I will manage it sometime before the end of the month.

Busy week

Sunday was my BBF-B’s birthday.  She lives in OH and I finally got to talk to her on Monday to wish her a happy birthday.  I really miss her.  She is having a lot of crap going on in her life right now, but as always seems to be handling it was a good attitude.

Monday was my very good friend, Wendy’s birthday.  We went out to lunch and walked around downtown looking in a few shops.  I had a really good time hanging out and hope she did too.

Tuesday I volunteered at school.  I also got to talk to my BFF-N about Easter weekend and plans for Kyan’s birthday that happens to fall on Easter this year.  Since Easter is MIL’s holiday, we wouldn’t be able to make it to his party if she had it over that weekend.  All is good, Hannah and I are planning a trip to visit them in April.

Tuesday was also Sean’s last day at work.  (He starts his new job on Monday.)  So Wednesday we went out for breakfast.  We wandered around the mall.  I had a ring re-sized with a chipped stone repaired ready to pick up.  It is a beautiful sapphire (my birth stone) ring that Sean gave me as a pre-wedding gift as my something blue for our wedding day.  It is so wonderful to be able to wear it again.  After that we went to the movies to see 10,000 BC.  We really enjoyed the movie, though it honestly wasn’t what I thought.

Thursday I had a volunteer/fundraiser/PTA luncheon to attend.  Sean took his car in for services and ran some errands while I was at lunch.  Then I picked him up so that we could go grocery shopping.

It has been such a beautiful week weather-wise so I let Hannah play after school each day.  Except today.  Sean and I ran went to the outlets for a bit today.  Then back over to the mall.  He saw a couple of things he wanted the other day but didn’t get.  When we picked up Hannah from school we rushed over to the movies to see Horton Hears a Who!  What an incredibly cute movie.  I love elephants and Horton is my newest love!  I look forward to getting this one on DVD.  Oh, and we saw a preview for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs due out next year.

I haven’t been stitching.  I think maybe a total of a hour and a half this entire week.  What is up with that?  I don’t know.  I don’t know if it is just that I am not that interested in the project I pick up to work on and that I really want to stitch something else or what.  Maybe it is the amount of time I spend on-line.  Both Sean and Hannah have been commenting on it lately.  I can’t even tell you what I am doing on-line.  Sometimes I am trying to get caught up on the many blogs I read…and unsuccessfully at that…or just surfing.  I will think about something, like the history of Deadwood, then I will spend the next hour or two researching and reading about it and the people.  So I have learned a lot :0) but I am not getting any stitching finished.  :0(

A Surprise!

A surprise in the mail… A lovely project bag and "Stitching Girl" socks from Petra for the Nascar contest at Cross Stitch Forever yahoo group.  Thanks so much for the great surprise.  Hannah is trying to claim the bag for herself.  She loves the beach and says this would be perfect for her to put "STUFF" in.

I ordered something for the dogs and cat today… Peticure …can’t wait to get this in the mail and trim some much needed nails.  I have the clippers but don’t use them nearly enough because I always manage to trim at least one nail way to much.  This will eliminate that it seems.
