I have been busy and I have been actually stitching.  More often than not so I am hoping that means my stitching slump has passed.  I have only been stitching on Circus of Circles and have been enjoying it.  Though I do look forward to stitching on another wip or starting something new.

Hannah had school pictures done on Friday and she let me do her hair.  It looked so cute, I hope she lets me do it again.  I can’t wait to see the pictures from school.

Today Hannah and I went to the park.  After a couple of days of rain, we wanted to enjoy some sunshine.  We played at the park, visited the ducks and when we heard some music walked down to the other side of the park to find a free concert.

Fitness woes

So, since the beginning of the year I have been working out 5-6 days a week.  Strength training, cardio, yoga.  I have not achieved the goals I set at the beginning of the year which was to drop ten pounds.  I did gain five pounds while we were on vacation and that was while keeping up with working out… on vacation!  So now I really would like to drop 15 pounds.

So last month I read about a work out DVD, 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels, that I thought I would give a try.  The claim… lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days. So instead of buying a video that I would end up hating and not using (I hated her Wii fitness game) I rented it from Netflix.  You are suppose to workout seven days a week, but I only worked out six days a week.  But two days ago I completed the 30 days!  The results… I weigh the exact same as I did when I started.  And yes, I understand that muscle/fat thing.  However, I would think in nine months the weight would still start going down a little.  And I have tried to let go of the numbers on the scale and let the other indicators tell me how I am doing.  Here is the thing… those numbers, the measurements of the hips, thighs, waist, arms and bust have not changed.  Some clothes that I could wear last year are a little more snug or I am unable to button them, yet others fit the same.  My clothing size hasn’t changed either, I am buying the same size as I bought last year.  So what gives?

Last month I also bought the Leslie Sansone DVD Walk Your Belly Flat from Amazon.  The day after it arrived there was an email about signing up for the Walk Your Belly Flat 6-week challenge that started on September 28.  So I signed up for that and started doing that in addition to the Shred.

I did buy the Shred DVD at Best Buy the other day and mailed Netflix back theirs.

Even though I haven’t lost any weight, I have noticed in the last week or so a few changes that hadn’t been happening before.  I have a little less of a “muffin top”, less of the love handles, hanging over the waist of my jeans and though I still have a pooch belly it does seem to be a smaller pooch.  There also seems to be a little less back fat/bra overhang.  So I have decided that I will continue to do the walk challenge (I really enjoy Leslie Sansone’s walk DVDs) and on Monday… I will start round two of the 30 Day Shred.

Let’s see what happens.

Now that school is in full swing, I am a busy PTA/Classroom Volunteer Mom.  It isn’t the only thing keeping me busy, there is still housework to do.  I have been working out with Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred.  I have been doing it for the last 19 days.  I haven’t lost a pound, but I am starting to notice some differences in my shape.  I also joined the 6 week Walk Off Your Belly Fat challenge with Leslie Sansone.  I enjoy her DVDs.  It just started on 9/28 so only a week in.  I am hoping that at some point to drop 10 lbs.

I have been stitching a bit. Not every day but a lot of days.  I have to take a picture to post this weekend.

I got hooked on The Vampire Diaries on CW.  I am really liking this show.  For the last year I have mostly been reading vampire themed books.  I haven’t read this one yet but… I do have the first one and now that I have been watching the show, I want to read the books.  There was just a reference to the Twilight books on the 10/1 episode I am watching on DVR… LOL  I am a Supernatural fan too, mostly because of those really cute brothers (the show is good too but those brothers are hot) and I am starting to have a second crush on a set of TV brothers. :0)

I recently celebrated a birthday and so Sean & I got new cell phones.  It was a BOGO on Blackberry.  I had wanted the Storm but can’t text with the touch screen due to my nails, so we got the Tour.  I am not sure I like it but I will get use to it.  I still like the Voyager better.  For my birthday, Sean and Hannah gave me a Kindle though the phone was suppose to be my present.  I have downloaded several books for free!  What could be better than that?  Of course, they are the first books in series to get you hooked on them to buy the rest.  I have been reading a lot of series too lately so it is all good.  I love the Kindle, but Hannah is trying to steal it… She has been asking if we will get her one.  I downloaded a book on mine for her and she loves reading on it.  I have so many books to read on my bookcase that I am going to have to figure out a way to read from both.
