My last weigh in

I went in yesterday for my last weigh in, hopefully for a really long time.  I lost 3 lbs from last week’s and since Phase 3 ended yesterday, my official weight loss is 23 pounds.  I lost a total of 6.5 inches from both my waist and from my high hip (the lower tummy area) and 4% from my BMI which puts me right in the middle of a healthy BMI and waist measurement.  I feel really good about the new me.  I feel healthier and look better, too, without being to thin.  I would highly recommend this program to anyone that can afford the added expense.  For us to do it, we of course gave up our weekly trips to Panera and eating out on the weekend, so it evened out in the end.  Now I can eat many of the foods I use to, but will do so in moderation.  And I have to try really hard to not eat carbs in the afternoon.  Carbs are for breakfast or dinner, not lunch.  It will be a little hard because I like to have sandwiches for lunch.  I do get my cheat day though and I am very much looking forward to that this weekend.  Cake! has been ordered. 

Hannah’s first Holy Communion is on Sunday and we are having a small gathering of a few family and friends after Church.  And that is the real reason a cake has been ordered, but I am so happy I will be able to have some.  I need to order a fruit and cheese, veggie and chicken tender tray tomorrow.  Not sure what else I should serve… I am thinking about making cookies, but should probably wait until next weekend.

Weight gain

I went for my weigh in.  After one week on Phase 3, I gained 1.5 lbs.  I was told that this was normal while my body gets used to having carbs again, and not to worry about it because it is not fat.  Guess we will see what happens next week.  Only one more week and then it is maintenance with a cheat day!

I went in on Tuesday for my weigh-in and I have now begun Phase 3!  I have reached my goal weight and lost a total of 21.5 lbs!  Yesterday and today for breakfast I had an egg, Greek yogurt, a whole grain English muffin with peanut/almond butter and a fruit.  A banana yesterday and strawberries today.  Yummy!  So I am slowly reintroducing carbs back in my diet.  I was told that I could start my cheat day this weekend, but I am going to hold off until Phase 3 is over.  It is only two weeks long so I am just going to wait it out. 

This weekend we are going to the horse races in Virginia.  I think it will be fun.  Hannah is excited too but she thinks we are going to actually race the horses.

I have been stitching a tiny bit.  But not nearly enough.  I hope that will change soon.

Just as I thought

I only lost one pound this last week, and I am hoping that it is because of the curse.  I am hoping it is because I moved to phase 2 and the weight is stopping to drop. Keeping my fingers crossed that I still managed to lose two pounds this week.  I am want to move on to phase 3.

happy Easter!

After going to TX for a couple of days, and dealing with the emotions of losing my sister, i haven’t felt like blogging much.  My life moves forward.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  My MIL came for the weekend and I made a few meals for her that she said were better than some restaurants, then told me I should go to chef school.  I thank that was a compliment, not that I needed to go but that I have a talent.  I say thank you but believe that anyone who can read and follow directions can cook.

I did go in for my weigh in last Tuesday and have moved on to Phase 2 for a minimum of two weeks!  I dropped 3 1/2 lbs that last week. 3 lbs to go! (I have been calculating the total loss ~now 18.5 lbs~ correctly but remembering my starting weight wrong. My total weight loss goal is 21.5 lbs, I had been thinking it was 20.)  Then I begin Phase 3 for two weeks, then it is on to Phase 4–maintenance.  The problem… the dreaded cruse stopped in for a week long visit yesterday.  But I am only doing Phase 2 for two weeks.  I am ready to be done with this whole thing.  I am very happy with the results, but am ready to eat a few foods I haven’t been allowed to have.
