My friend, Terri, is an amazing framer.  She is very talented, has a great eye and does beautiful work.  Most of my stitching that has been framed professionally has been framed by her.  Only Hannah’s birthday annoucement was framed at Micheal’s but that was before I had the pleasure to meet and get to know Terri.

Anyway, she brought the framed One Hundred Years over on Thursday and took the Ink Circles clefs to frame… I can’t wait to see those.  But it will make it harder to give away as the gift for Hannah’s elementary music teacher… just like the Library, Snapperbets and this new finish.

I have been working on a WIP/UFO and started the L*K Going Green flip-its over the last couple of days.

I met up with my friend, Wendy,  at a local coffee shop yesterday where we stitched and chatted the afternoon away.  She is stitching a gift for her hubby that is going to be beautiful when done.  She always has the neatest stitching and her backs are just as perfect as her fronts.  Next time I am taking a picture of her project.

Alto Gether Now design by Ink Circles          Started 10/3/11          Finished 10/19/11

Not much has been going on here really.  Most days I don’t have a ton of energy.  A few weeks ago I went in to the doctor’s for a routine check up.  My pap came back normal… which is good, because I have a history there… but I was called back in to the doctor’s office to discuss the results of the blood work.  I had been borderline for high cholesterol before and it went up… even after losing weight last year and exercise pretty regularly.  But in the last few months or so my weight has gone back up. I haven’t gained back all the weight I lost but about a third of it.  And though I lose the weight by repeating the no carbs/no sugar, it goes right back up as soon as I get to phase 3.

And lately, for a long time really, but getting worse, I haven’t been feeling myself.  I am exhausted, dizzy, feeling forgetful, struggling to get thur the day… well, as it turns out I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.  According to my blood work, my thyroid isn’t working at all.  Many things that I wouldn’t have even thought were related are symptoms of thyroiditis.  So she started me on a prescription, sent in for an ultrasound (which confirmed her diagnosis) and a referral to see a specialist.  I have an appointment scheduled for next month.  I am looking forward to feeling better and having more energy once they get my meds worked out, though I was told it would be a while before that happens.

14 years?!

Today Sean and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary! It has been a most amazing 14 years, getting better with each passing year.  We have had our ups and downs, I’ve even wondered what I have gotten myself into a few times, but we always managed to come out stronger together.  I can’t image spending my life with anyone else even when he drives me insane… which is a lot of the time.

I have been doing a little of this and a bit of that.  I volunteered on a field trip for Hannah’s science class.  That was fun.  Next week I am getting to volunteer on a couple of trips for the elementary school.  They will be lots of fun, too.  One is for the 3rd grade and the other is for the 4th grade.  Oh, Hannah and I went with friends to a local dairy to feed some of the baby calves. It was great fun! They are so cute.

Today we went on a family fun day… been couped up with all this rain and couldn’t stand it anymore… to the Maryland RenFest.  Got a couple of really pretty pottery pieces and Hannah got a pretty cool new watch…ever the girl with lastest in technology.

Thanks to some friends who very kindly passed on this desk and chair, Hannah has a new homework area.

I have been stitching a little here and there.  I placed a big order with Down Sunshine Lane (best online store ever for your cross stitch needs!) and got it yesterday, so I plan on putting my WIP aside for now and start Ink Circles’ Alto Gether Now,  the 3rd and final piece, for Hannah’s music teacher from elementary school.  My framing friend said she can frame them in one frame with a mat, so I am looking forward to seeing how that will come out.  I got a couple of small cuts of fabric, lots of threads for various projects I want to start, Ink Circles’ Alto Gether Now and 99, Lizzie*Kate’s first three snowmen flip-its, the remaining charts for Bent Creek’s  The Branch (I only had the first one), Heart In Hand’s Notes To Self parts 1 & 2, Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks’ Happy Tree, Country Cottage Needleworks’ Sunflowers in Summer, Primrose Needleworks’ 272 Words (the Gettysburg Address) and the new JCS Ornament issue.

Oh, and I turned 40 last week!
