Thanksgiving

It is that time of year again where we celebrate the things that we are thankful for in our lives.  We will be leaving tomorrow morning bright and early to drive down to my parents house.  My uncle and his wife will be hosting dinner.  We will be spending a couple of days at my parents.  I would like to share the things I am most thankful for this year.

  • My daughter and the sound of her laughter.  There isn’t a sweeter sound in the world to me.
  • My husband, I can’t even begin to explain the depth of my love for him.
  • Our pets, the dogs and cat give us so much joy and love.
  • My parents for their love & support.
  • My friends…I have been blessed in my life with so many dear friends. I even got to talk to one of my BBFs today.
  • Our home, hubby’s job and health.
  • My family…you know all the aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and God-children.  I am very thankful that I will be spending this holiday with my niece and her family.  I am also thankful for my nephew(in-law)’s service in the military.
  • My hobbies, stitching & reading, they help keep me sane.

Things we have done

Over the weekend we got to meet our new little niece, Isabell. She is just adorable and looks just like our nephew did as a newborn.

We spent the afternoon after church service on Sunday playing Wii Music and catching up on DVR.  Sean and I watched 24:Redemption and I am seriously looking forward to the new season.

Yesterday the dogs went to the groomers … JoJo for a bath and cut, Daisy just for the bath.  They came home with matching bandanas and smelling like pumpkin pie.  We can’t stop sniffing them.  :0)

JoJo…You can’t make me look at the camera        Daisy … Being sassy with the ear flip

Today after I volunteered in Hannah’s class, I had lunch with my friend, Symya.  She is doing wonderful and enjoying newlywed bliss.

Tonight we are planning on watching the very last episode of The Shield.  This is Sean’s favorite show and he is very sad that it is almost over.  I am hoping that a really nice box set of the entire series will be out in time for his birthday next year.

Since the weather has gotten so cold, we have been enjoying hot chocolate the last couple of evenings.  Hannah only recently discovered that she liked hot chocolate.  She wouldn’t believe me that she would like it but she finally decided to try it and guess what?  I was right.  LOL

Oh, I ordered a few things from Down Sunshine Lane and the package came in yesterday.  I got the last kit for The Big Zipper project and the first three kits of the LHN’s Sea To Shining Sea series.  I need to see if I have any fabric to stitch this project on.  I also need to seriously clean up and re-organize my stash in the office.  I am ashamed to admit that that room is a complete mess!

Movie night

So we picked up Hannah from school and headed to the movies.  We saw Bolt in 3D and it was "awesome"!  It really was cute and very funny.  Hannah loved it, too.

This weekend we are finally getting to go see our new niece, Isabell.  And that is about it.  I think after church on Sunday we will go to Panera as we usually do and then home to change into pjs for the reminder of the day.

I do hope to actually stitch at some point but I haven’t really been doing that lately.  So we will see.

Six Random Things

I have been tagged by Petra to share 6 things about myself!
The rules are as follows:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Post the rules on your blog.
Write six random things about yourself.
Tag six people at the end of your post.
Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Let the tagger know your entry is up.
  1. I have one body piercing (naval) and three tattoos…One tat is my first initial on my foot, one is of Mickey Mouse on my right ankle and one is a smiley face at the top of my back.
  2. I didn’t believe in soul mates until I met my husband.
  3. I smoked for over 15 years…I quit in January 2000 for good when I found out I was pregnant.
  4. I like to cook and bake.  I am always on the lookout for new recipes. But I love to eat out!
  5. I don’t like raisins, but like Raisin Bran cereal.
  6. I am currently addicted to all things to do with the Twilight Saga.

So now I will break a rule and not tag anyone.  Most of the the blogs I read have already posted six random things.

Now what?

So I finished the final book of the Twilight Saga.  It was really good.  I am glad to be done with them except I am not sure what to do now.  I enjoyed the last couple of weeks reading almost non-stop.  I will be getting back to stitching and catching up on my DVR.  But I am going to miss the Cullens.  I really can’t wait for the movie now.  I also am looking forward to reading more from Stephenie Meyers.

Eclipse

Done!  Just closed the book.  Only one more to go.  My friend who got me into reading this saga says that things are going to change but thinks that I will be happy with the ending, that it all falls into place.  She told me this this morning when I told her that I wasn’t totally happy with where things are going.  She can’t wait for me to read the forth book so that we can talk more.

As for now, I must head up to the school where we have to get things ready for fund raiser pick up by the parents.  Which means I won’t be staring Breaking Dawn until later tonight.  Dang all my other responsibilities…I want to read!  🙂

And here is a little proof…

A dark, out of focus photo.  It isn’t much progress in the stitching department, but a little is better than none.

I am totally obsessed with The Twilight Saga.  I am counting down to the movie, too.  Today Sean and I went out for lunch and stopped by the book store where I bought Twilight The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion.  I told Sean I am feeling a little silly.  Here I am nearing 40 and I am loving the books, counting down to the movie like some teenager.  He laughed.  I also ordered the audiobooks for the series, and Sean has agreed to listen to the first one.  He is kind of curious, as I have been for myself, if he would enjoy books that way.  So we shall see.

Oh, but at least I don’t act like the teenage girl we saw in Wal-mart the other day.  When she saw the movie poster with the main love interest, she screamed "It’s Edward" and looked like she was about to start crying or wet herself.  I did jokingly do that today at the bookstore making Sean bust out laughing.

Two Down, Two To Go

I finished reading New Moon just a few minutes ago and I am getting ready to start Eclipse.  I enjoyed New Moon, not as much as Twilight but enough that I read it in record time for me and that I am very eager to start the next book.

So no stitching to report for the last few days though before starting the second book I did finish the Hug A Tree square of the Holiday Snappers.
