Stitching…

I thought I should show some actual stitching here on my stitching blog.

SweetChild

Last year I stitched another birth announcement, Bent Creek’s Baby Row, for a friend and had it framed over the holidays.

LoveYouMore

And last August I started stitching the Bent Creek’s I Love You More to give as a gift to my mom for Christmas, but since she passed away, it now hangs in our home in her memory. When she and I would end a phone call, my mom would always say this to me. My friend Terri does a beautiful job framing, doesn’t she?

A new year

It’s a new year. I am still grieving but doing better. I have been through this before and know what I need… time and tears. In the mean time, I need to force myself through the day and doing things that I enjoy. So with that said…

I don’t do resolutions exactly with the new year any more, because let’s face it, I am going to break them. However, goals are different. Okay, not really but they are. So I have spent the last week thinking about the goals I would like to achieve. I haven’t come up with much but here …

Stitch more ~ I haven’t been stitching much and I really miss it

Read more ~ I didn’t read the 20 books I had hoped, but I did read 16 last year

Complete the Tinker Bell Half Marathon on January 20th ~ That is right around the corner. I’m looking forward to doing this but not sure how I feel yet about continuing to run afterwards

Exercise 5-6 days a week ~ Lately, I’ve mostly been running for exercise but want to get back into more strength training again. I received the Jillian Michaels Revolution 90 day program and I would like to start & finish it following the program as closely as possible

Lose 10-12 lbs

Keep house better ~ I use to work on a pretty good schedule that I fell out of and have been failing at getting back on track

Have better eating habits

Try new recipes ~ I like to cook so this isn’t to hard to do. Now if only I could get my family willing to try things they think they don’t like

Continue gardening ~ I need to re-plant my herb garden and annuals. I really enjoyed gardening last year and I am looking forward to getting my hands in the soil again

Blog Hop #14

What was your biggest stitching accomplishment in 2012? What was your favorite stash acquisition in 2012 and will you be using it in 2013?

I didn’t really stitch as much as I would have liked but my favorite finish for the year would be Lizzie*Kate’s A Good Marriage. I stitched this in secret to give to my husband for our 15th wedding anniversary that we celebrated in October.

During 2012 I bought the L*K’s 6 Snow Belles (companion piece to the 6 Fat Snowmen), started the auto for CCN Santa’s Village and picked up some other projects here and there. I am not sure what I want to stitch the most of these, because I am trying to focus on actually finishing some of my WIPS.
